2. What We Collect
- Operational traffic data: Outside consent-required regions, page path, referrer host, coarse country code, and user-agent may be processed for invalid-traffic monitoring. This collection is disabled in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland.
- Consent preferences: A first-party cookie and mirrored local storage key (
sc_cookie_consent) store your consent choice. - Email (if submitted): If you submit a correction request or contact form, we retain your email solely to respond to your inquiry.
- Reader accounts: If you create an account, we store your email, username, password hash, verification and session-security records, synchronized saves and follows, and discussion activity.
3. Advertising
This site may display advertising served by Google AdSense. In consent-required regions (EEA/UK/CH), ad script loading and ad requests remain disabled. Advertising will only be enabled there after a Google-certified IAB TCF consent platform is configured. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visitingGoogle Ads Settings.
4. Third-Party Services
Fonts are self-hosted through the application build. We do not run social media pixels or unrelated third-party behavioral trackers.
5. Data Retention
Anonymous analytics data is retained for up to 26 months. Correspondence emails are retained for up to 12 months after resolution. Reader account data is retained while the account is active. Account deletion removes synchronized preferences and anonymizes the identity associated with retained discussion records. We do not sell personal data.
6. Your Rights
Under GDPR and applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Signed-in readers can download or delete account data from Account Settings. You may also contact editorial@signalandcircuit.com.
7. Manage Consent
You can change or reset consent at any time from theCookie Preferencespage.

We update this page when our practices change. The “last updated” date reflects the most recent revision.
